Holmer's Headlines Feb 21

05 Feb 2021

Dear member

Some of you will remember when I wrote Holmer’s Headlines at the start of the first lockdown I wrote about the view of Temple Spa products as I sat at Mrs Chadwick’s dressing table which was my make shift desk. Well I am now back at said dressing table but joined by a TV, the iron and even more Temple Spa products!

I wanted to start by telling you that I, along with many of my colleagues from up and down the country, have recently written to our local MP asking for 3 key areas of support covering survival, recovery and development for our sector. Mr Bill Wiggin has responded to me and assured me that he has forwarded my email to the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and I await a response. I have also invited him to our club to ensure our sector is at the forefront of the governments reopening plans. Afterall the physical activity sector can contribute in an huge way to the recovery and long term health and fitness of the nation. There is also a petition that I and many others have signed which is asking for the physical activity sector to be opened first and you can sign that by visiting https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/567492

It is now over 3 weeks since we closed our doors for the 3rd time in less than 12 months. This time last year as we danced in those classes, drank that coffee and put in the miles on those treadmills, who would ever have thought we would find ourselves in this position. This time we are slightly better prepared and have adapted the way we work so we can support you during this time. Via our social media platforms we have shared smoothies, healthy eating tips and we have so much more planned to help keep you motivated. We have our Strava group where we are posting support and encouragement. It is great to see so many of you continuing to be active and you can join our group https://www.strava.com/clubs/holmerpark.

Our online exercise portal is growing week by week and we now have over 60 classes for you to take part in. I am really thankful to the Fitness Team and our partner instructors for contributing to this project. A reminder to log in you DO NOT USE YOUR USUAL LOG IN. USe your email address and the password we have emailed to you. We aim to add 3 classes each week and have a huge library to choose from so if there is a class in particular that you would like then let us know and we’ll do our very best to make that happen for you.

For those of you that don’t know, although Holmer Park is locally owned, we are part of the Mosaic Group and I just wanted to highlight the fantastic job the team at HQ are doing in caring for the club whilst we are closed and preparing to reopen when it is safe to do so. I am so thankful  to Steve our Regional Manager (and cofounder of Mosaic), Beverley our Finance Manager, Clare our Marketing Manager and their teams for all they are doing. Our MD Dave is working tirelessly to ensure Holmer Park is represented at the very highest level and I am delighted to announce that Dave has been appointed Chairman of the Marches Growth Hub. Check out what Dave had to say on his appointment here https://www.holmerpark.co.uk/news/view/holmer-park-md-given-key-business-role-in-the-county/. It is just great for our club to have the wealth of experience, values and commitments that being part of Mosaic brings.

I know there are many NHS team members and other key sectors workers in our Holmer Park family and I wanted to pass on our gratitude to you as you work tirelessly to help us navigate our way through this difficult period. So thank you and we’re proud to be associated with you.

Finally thank you for being part of our Holmer Park family and we look forward to seeing you all again as soon as possible.

Take care and stay safe

Steven and the Holmer Park team

Steven Chadwick
