Holmer's Headlines September 2020

14 Sep 2020

Hello Everyone

At the time of writing this, we have been open 47 days and it’s been over 1 month since I last wrote to you all. I just cannot believe how fast that time has gone!

Thank you very much for your support, it has been great. I am really thankful too for the trust you have given us in welcoming you to your friendly, safe club and I very much appreciate the helpful feedback that we have received in improving our current policies.

Talking of feedback…Nothing beats kicking back in the Spa Pool and enjoying the bubbles and massaging jets, I get it. I love it too. However, at the moment, so everyone gets a fair chance of enjoying this facility please can I ask that you do limit the time spent in the Spa Pools to 1 cycle? I have received feedback to suggest that although this is generally well respected, sometimes this is not always happening. We will improve signage and I will also ensure that a note is added to our email to guests of our Day Spa so everyone is aware of this temporary ask.

September 23rd is National Fitness Day and it is more important than ever to celebrate keeping active. This year we are spreading out this celebration of all thing’s fitness over 1 week from the 16th September and I really hope you will support us and take part.

You will have 6 tasks to complete over a 1 week period, finishing on the 23rd. If you can complete all the tasks by then you will be entered into a draw with the chance of winning one of the following:

  • A Fitbit charge HR
  • A free month membership
  • A 60 minute treatment

Please keep an eye on posters in the club and on our social media platforms for more information but I really do hope you can help us celebrate our industry in what has been such a difficult time for all of us.

Training and development of our team is extremely important to myself and the team at Mosaic HQ and I just wanted to take the time to tell you some of training programmes that the team have started since coming back to work. From Chelsea and her Personal Training qualification, to Harriet and her Management qualification and Lacey and her Customer Service qualification, I am really proud of the teams constant passion to improve. Lead by Regional Training Manager (and former club manager) Neale the team are well on their way to developing themselves into leaders, instructors and experts in delivering customer service.

We are really proud to be part of the Holmer and Shelwick Parish and know we are very lucky to have such a great location. It is also important to us that we do all we can to ensure we live in harmony with our neighbours and local community.

Recently it has been raised to us that cars are travelling through Cleeve Orchard too quickly and this has become a concern to our neighbours. Please may I politely ask that we all pay extra consideration whist traveling to and from the club? As a considerate neighbour we have said that we will introduce some traffic calming measures in the car park so that when exiting our property on to Cleeve Orchard vehicles are travelling slower. Therefore, with immediate effect, please may I request that a 10 miles per hour speed limit is adhered to whilst on our property? We will be installing signage shortly to support this request and I hope you will be all support us in this matter.

Don’t forget too that we have a bike shed that offers safe cycling storage for over 12 bicycles so perhaps you could even be persuaded to cycle to and from the club? Chef Chris, Fitness Team Members Paige and Rich and Receptionist Liz all cycle to the club so, if cycling is a possibility for you, why not join them?

Just to let you know that in addition to using medical grade sanitiser, long lasting anti-microbial products and carrying out constant cleaning we have enhanced our procedures with the addition of a state of the art “fogging” machine that the Fitness Team have been using every night to thoroughly disinfect all of the gym equipment (and all other areas frequently). We have also increased the number of Housekeepers on duty by happily welcoming Mervillyn back to our team as we invest heavily in keeping our club safe and clean. It goes without saying that I am thankful for the work carried out by all of the team but I just wanted to pay tribute to the excellent work that Jen, Erica, Petra, Caroline and Mervillyn are doing for all us.

It just leaves me to say thank you for being part of the Holmer Park family and the very best wishes to you all.

Steven
