From the club General Manager...

Hello Members,

Can I start by wishing you a healthy 2019 and thanking you for choosing Holmer Park as your venue for an active lifestyle. For some members this will be the first edition of Holmer’s headlines so thank you for reading! This key communication will ensure you are kept up to date with club news!

Make a Pledge
This year we are again encouraging you to “make a pledge” but this time we are offering you the chance to win 3 months FREE membership! Simply complete a pledge card, take a photo, share and tag us in it online and you’ll be entered in a draw. A great incentive to put down in writing and share your fitness goals for 2019. We will display them on Club notice boards until the 28th February and announce the winner of our draw on the 1st March.

2019, a New Year
2019 promises to be another hugely successful time for our club. Following our £500K of investments in 2018, we are now progressing our changing room refurbishment design and I have to say it looks great- I’m sure you’ll be impressed.

We’ll soon be publishing our drawings so you can see exactly how your new changing rooms will look so keep an eye out for that! In the meantime, we are still in the middle of our project that we started in December to upgrade our water supplies and maintenance manager Reg is busy with other minor projects that will improve your experience.

FREE Breakfast!
Throughout January and February, we’re offering Club Anytime Members a FREE breakfast, Monday - Friday from 07:30 - 08:15, starting Wednesday 16th January!

Start the day with our selection of 3 cereals including Cornflakes, Muesli and Weetabix and a selection of 2 fresh juices. What a great way to start your day, for FREE!

Perhaps you usually visit the club after work… why not consider starting your working day with your workout and enjoy breakfast, on us!

Group Fitness Booking System
For those of you that take part in classes at Holmer Park, I know the booking system has not been perfect, particularly with the way it manages our waiting list. I have said numerous times that we have been pushing our developer to come up with a way to solve our problem and we have finally got there!

Over the next month or so you will notice the following changes to waiting list management:
- A class is full and the waiting list is started
- A space becomes available
- Now, the change… The 1st person who registered on the waiting list will be told via email that they have been added to the class (you will no longer be asked to phone the club!)
- If you do not want the place, simply log in and cancel your booking as usual

For those of you that have been a member with us for a while will remember that if you missed 3 classes in a 1 month period, you would have your booking rights removed for 2 weeks. This will also be reinstated. Please do notify us with at least 2 hours’ notice if you cannot attend a class that you have booked for.

Thanks so much for sticking with us on this one. I know this will solve the issues that we have had and make the system much more user friendly.

Please Help!
I hope you don’t mind me asking but we would appreciate if you could assist us in these areas:

- Following intervention for the local parish council, please can I request that you consider our neighbours when leaving the club. I met recently with the Leader of the parish council following complaints from parishioners and I committed to raising this in the club newsletter.

- Please can I remind parents again to monitor children whilst they are swimming. I have again received member complaints about children throwing ice, sitting in the foot spas and jumping in the pool when it is inappropriate.

Members Christmas Meal
Finally, can I thank those 120 members (a sell out!) that came to our Members Christmas Meal, it was a huge success!

I never thought 4 years ago when I walked through the foyer on my first day that I would ever see a member “conga” parading around the lounge… unbelievable! What a great night, one that made me incredibly proud to be associated with this fantastic Club. You can see some of the pictures taken by the photographer on our Facebook page.

New Menu
I’m delighted to announce that we’re currently working on a complete overhaul of the Orchard Café Menu!

We’re introducing new ingredients, new dishes and increasing our focus on dishes that supplement your workout. Don’t worry though, the home cooked favourite meals will still be there and we will continue to have our Daily Specials.
