1.  Avoid clumpy mascara by wiping excess mascara from the brush before applying – any lumpy bits, just scrape off.
2. To get the most defined lashes, use a lengthening mascara first, then add one coat of thickening mascara. Try not to let the first coat of lengthening mascara dry before putting the second coat on, that’s when it will get clumpy. It will take twice as long to apply but will look twice as good
3.  Lash curlers: Vital part of your makeup kit, or a torture implement? Definitely a key tool in your makeup box. Always use a lash curler. Some say before applying, some say afterwards, but the main point is that you should use it at some point in your makeup routine!
4.  Don’t ‘pump’ the mascara wand in and out of the tube, this will pump air into the tube and dry out your mascara.
5. Don’t throw away your wand after you’ve used all your mascara. Give it a wash in hot soapy water and use it to separate your lashes after applying mascara.

1. Wriggle the mascara wand from side to side at the base of your lashes. This outs down a layer of mascara that will actually make your lashes look longer and thicker.
2. Next, you should pull the wand forward and out of your lashes, again, keep wriggling it from side to side as you do this. The wriggle motion separates your lashes and gives you that red carpet, film star look.
3. Lastly, to remove any clumps, close your eyes and draw the brush from the root to the tips, on the top of your lashes. You can use an eyelash comb, or an old, clean mascara wand.
